For The Press - A Project Summary

Sep
09

The search for local storyboard artists has begun.

We decided that we really need to scour the local area for artists. Patrick told me that he has had something posted on some forums for a little while with nothing really promising popping-up. There are a few reasons. Time. Money. Which we have very little of. Proximity to us is also an issue.

We obviously thought of local colleges, universities and art groups. Patrick and Adrian both had very little optimism about those avenues. They both have been around the local art/film scene for years. I’ll have to take there word for it. I still think it’s worth a shot though.

The only person I can think of right now is Tony. He is big on the sci-fi/comic book genre. Not to mention that he and his wife are HUGE Lord of the Rings fans. He is a really good sketch artist with a great conceptual mind. An all around creative individual. We’re good friends and I certainly trust him. Since the scope and tone is about the same as LOTR, it seems like a perfect fit.

Not to mention that I’ve already told him about the project.

All I’ve told him is the scope and tone. I also mentioned that it’s based on books that were derived from a PC game. He’s actually been going crazy trying to figure it out. It’s one of those little perks that comes with being involved in something like this :)

I’ll ask him and see what he thinks.

Ah, we hear from Ryan again! I’m glad you guys were able to find such a suitable artist.

Wait, who’s Ryan?

I would draw for you guys for free >>;

Ryan = Ryan Miller?

Tony = Cyan Worlds associate/employee?

Maybe? :D

No, this Tony is the artist they had for a while (or maybe they ended up keeping him on, I’m terribly confused by all this jumping around!), and this Ryan is the Ryan that helped P and A film the presentation video. I very much doubt it’s Ryan Miller…

Guys, it would help a lot if you made different tags for the different Tonys. Unless you really want to confuse us, of course.
