For The Press - A Project Summary

Sep
22

Well, our little baby has really started to see the world, now. Or, maybe, the world has started to see it. After a quick phone call with Tony tonight, he now has access to resource.projectpassage.com and he says he’ll find a chance to sift through it before we get together tomorrow.

Mostly, we just want him to read the trailer script and the full story synopsis, and get a feel for what we’re trying to do here. With the ballooned amount of reference material which we’ve put together these past few months - everything from environment and costume references to board drafts for VFX shot plans - he can get a feel quick for the scope of this whole thing. And, Louis is really looking forward to seeing some quality boards come together so we can start planning for actual VFX work. At the least, we need to get a hold on how many comp shots we’re looking at. That’s where some of the serious cost comes in (aside our insistence on building practical sets instead of relying solely on CG).

It’s always weird when setting up a username and password for someone new to the project. Like we’re opening up our secret club and letting other members in (for them to judge us and run screaming to the lawyers about copyright infringement). I’ve had a small panic in me ever since we let the first guy through. Now, it’s even worse with, what, a dozen running through trampling on our manifesto. It is a good confidence builder for us though, to show these guys (even working as pros in LA) that we’ve put this much thought into the organization and planning.

Score one for obsessive compulsive disorder.

THAT’S what the Login was for at the puzzle screen.

You guys put it up so that Tony could log in and check the script and stuff.

And then, on top of it, you removed http://resource.projectpassage.com so we couldn’t find out where it was when you put this post up.

Ahhh, the resourcefulness and evilness of you two is rivaling that of some of the sharpest political minds in our nation.

(checks US track record) er… nevermind.

Aha! I knew you owned projectpassage.com! The cross symbol gave it away, but confirmation is good.

Hehe, I like the hand! :D

BTW, for all of those who DON’T know.

resource.projectpassage.com is still up. Only a picture of a hand. No secrets tho, just checked the Page Source.

No secrets… yet… That page brings back memories from the puzzles before Mystmovie.com was officially opened!

Now I begin wondering.

We know that Rand has a filename here on Mystmovie.com (as in Forward from Rand Miller) and that Adrian and Patrick have accounts as well.

Now, with this, perhaps Tony has the ability to post here as well.

Though I doubt it…

Anyone I might’ve missed? (@ Adrian and Patrick)

Hey Nek, just wanted to clarify that the Tony mentioned in this post is one of the storyboard artists we talked with, not Tony Fryman. This was written long before T.F. or Cyan had ever heard our names. Things can get confusing when you’re dealing with two people with the same name. Just wanted to clear that up.

o-o

So wait… was I wrong in saying that Login thing was to let you all into the projectpassage site?

Duly noted tho, not the same guy.

*beats self with half-eaten banana*
