Patrick and I wandered down to Buy Me Toys tonight. It’s a local comic book shop that hosts a weekly artists’ workshop for writers, inkers and colorists. We figured it might be a good place to network and find someone capable doing our storyboards.
We showed up and immediately ran into a guy named Terry that we had cast in Scenarios years ago. He remembered us instantly and we began quoting his delivery from a brilliant audition. Good times, and a good comfortable way to begin the night.
The center of the store had been cleared away and a series of tables had been arranged. At these tables were a host of slightly geeky looking types all drawing away ferociously. We were introduced by one of the owners and began talking to those that seemed interested. All of them were pretty talented. There were a few we really liked, but we kept running into the same issue we had with Tony. No one had the time to dedicate. We took a few names and hoped that someone would be able to free up some time. I’m not feeling very optimistic about it, to be honest…
Are we ever going to find an artist?
