Well, Adrian and Sarah took off a little while ago, Micam’s down and I just had to convince Christine to go to bed because she was trying to talk and it wasn’t making sense anymore. It’s late. I’m wired. We just got a ridiculous e-mail.
Adrian and I have made an effort these past several months to open all correspondence related to the project together so that we’re never ahead of each other in the news. Recently, there hasn’t been much news to be ahead on. But tonight, I sat down and saw a curious new letter in the box regarding our call to artists 2 months ago and couldn’t help from opening it (figuring that it would be another student who wants - cue Dr. Evil -100 million dollars). It wasn’t.
Apparently, our shout out piqued the interest of one very established matte painter in the effects industry who’s worked on everything from Titanic to Alias. He’s good. He’s really good. (From the looks of his portfolio, he worked on that famous shot in Titanic where it goes from Jack and Rose on the ship, to the crane, to the rotting ship in the water, to the screen on the monitor). He might actually have the skills to pull off the scope we’re looking for.
I called Adrian immediately.
Now, I’m gonna chill and watch a Murder, She Wrote on Tivo. We have to e-mail this guy back tomorrow to let him know we can’t afford him.

So, you can’t afford someone who wants 100 million dollars.
I guess I need to recheck my fees.
