For The Press - A Project Summary

Oct
07

Well, we got together tonight with Phil and Jeremy for the first time in an official capacity. The night was planned to be somewhat of a meet and greet, and that’s pretty much what it turned into. Translation - not a lot of work got done. But, what we did get the chance to do was talk even more about the project. The guys needed a further primer as to exactly what the hell they were going to be doing - and that was fun.

I find anymore that every time we sit down with someone to explain what exactly it is that we’re trying to do, it’s become more of a interactive exploration into the concept rather than just a regurgitation of something we’ve said before. I think even I now have a clearer understanding of the endeavor than I had before - due in part to all of Phil and Jeremy’s questions about where we are, where we’re going, and why.

This process isn’t packaged in a nice little box - so it’s hard to really sum it up in a couple sentences. And I think that being as humble and realistic as we’re being gathers us points in legitimacy rather than compromise the confidence other’s may have in us. Maybe. The other possibility is that people actually think we’re insane, and Jeremy and Phil are just here cause they have time to kill - but something in me doubts that.

Before the night was over, we did have the chance to get some drafts out of major characters. Phil thought doing such was a paramount first step as him and Jeremy would be referring to them for the next several weeks.

Why do I get the feeling that we took our first steps into Hell tonight? I need to go home and hug my son..

What’s that big knife for O-o?

Oo, set-up shots for drawings!

Actually, these look like set-ups for the shots you showed us the roughs for… I guess that means that Ryan is Veovis in this shot?

What a GREAT Complete Works of shakespeare you have there. It looks loved.

… yes ,this is what I notice.

I agree with Ryuu. Nothing makes me happier than a well-loved book.

… Well, OK, lots of things do, but a well-loved book is pretty high on the list.
