For The Press - A Project Summary

What a small world. What an even smaller town.

You gotta love South Bend. I was talking to Phil tonight while he and Jeremy were hard at work on their respective boards and we suddenly realized we’d met before.

There is a lot of time for idle conversation while renderings are being done. At some point last night I had asked Phil where he attended high school. It turns out he went to John Adams. I have family friends, nearly brothers, that also attended Adams. Turns out, Phil lived only blocks from them growing up. Both my friends (the Whitlocks) and Phil lived very close to McKinley Middle School, where neighborhood children would frequently play. After a little more exploration, Phil and I realized we’d played together rather often as children.

He told me I looked familiar to him when we first met, but just couldn’t place me. That mystery is now solved. Sadly, it’s all very indicative of the fact that I don’t look much different than my ten-year-old self. I’m just a slightly more elongated version :/ Oh well…

Just slightly.

Very odd though, isn’t it? It seems that things like this always happen. Whether it’s divine intervention or not, it’s still amazing to sit back and say “wow” at all the coincidences in life.

Me, I don’t believe in coincidences. There are things set into motion we can never understand. I’ve literally had visions of things moments before they happen. For example, a fire that broke out on my way to class a while back. I just got faint and saw a building on fire. Saw the same image again on the 5:00 news.

Yerp, strange world we live in. :)
