Tonight was an interesting night. It started out like usual, but ended up taking a turn that was pretty unexpected. It was a nice break from the last days of grinding through boards, which we expect will continue through the next few days after this.
After getting through the introduction of the council for Anna’s hearing and Anna’s initial jailing the past couple of days, tonight we focused more attention to council matters - namely Veovis freaking out on Rak for allowing Anna’s hearing. Once we finished our initial photos to give Phil the intention, Ryan and I started getting restless and decided that a road trip for a drink was absolutely necessary. Adrian and Phil were in agreement - ridiculously cheap beer was in order.
So, Ryan and I ended up at the Super Target almost a million miles away, following the promise of extremely discounted Pabst Blue Ribbon that he’d seen in an ad over the weekend. But that wasn’t all. Because, as anyone knows - going to a Super Target absolutely requires one to wander around a bit to find additional good things (bean dip, socks, a lighter). And that’s exactly what we did. We talked too. I was trying to get him to ask Sarah out. Why?
Over the weekend we took a Saturday night break as it was Christine’s last weekend in town. We did dinner and music and dancing (well, Micam supplied the dancing) - and it was my first chance to get Ryan and Sarah together in the same room because I had expected that they’d hit it off pretty well. And, I was right. But, now he is being shy about taking the happenstance of gathering at Patrick’s place and meeting a girl any further and I’ve been giving him crap for it.
Walking around Target I also realized something else - that it was the first real time that I’d had the chance to actually talk to the guy and get to know him. Since we first met Ryan months ago, it’s literally been a string of projects or events that have taken all of our attention, whether it be the IVFF, the new MAF website or this Myst thing. It made me realize that although we’ve gotten really close, it’s been almost in a shallow capacity, only relevant within this project.
We need to fix that.

Hey, if you wanted cheap drinks, let some cranberry juice ferment for 3 months at a time.
Cheap and delicious XD
BTW, glad to hear the Council scene is all set and done. I’d imagine, if anything, it might take a similar (though not exact) tone to the big hearing from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix?
I figured the five would be on a pedestal of sorts with many people there to listen to the outcome of the hearing.
That’s just me though
