Adrian and I left the studio tonight feeling pretty good about things. That’s even weird to say — the studio. It makes this all feel real. Matt has a great little place here and after moving everything around needed for his portraiture work, the place turned into a nice little sound studio. It’s a very good feeling to have spent so long having this whole project in the conceptual stage — with nothing really tangible to hang on to or show (well, other than the animatic) — and then suddenly have a place to go to actively work on it on a daily basis. It’s kind of like storyboarding, but different — probably because we’re going somewhere other than Adrian’s apartment. I suspect the next few days are going to be pretty fun, if we don’t kill each other.
Adrian got back into town with the equipment this evening and we immediately started lighting for green screen tests. We came back here and pulled a couple of keys, overlaying the image on one of Ryan’s static backgrounds because the full renders aren’t done yet. It looks pretty good. A couple of halos, a couple of artifacts, but nothing we can’t work out tomorrow as we prep to test some real footage. I think Adrian is a little frustrated tough — he seemed to think everything was going to be perfect from the get-go. Probably the pressure of time messing with his head. We only have a few days — and we aren’t completely prepared.
I am really, really tired.
