I should be doing work right now, but the VPN went down. I should be drinking coffee, but I choked on my last sip (what a way to go out). Quiet tonight. The girlfriend is working a late shift so I’m trying to catch up on some much needed TLC for the site. The usual: approving comments, checking Google Analytics, reading through the boards, seeing if anything has changed.
I just listened to the most recent podcast from The Cavern Today upon an urging from “Alhon.” Adrian and I are planning on doing an interview with them. I hadn’t listened through all of these pod casts before, so I’m checking them now. 2 things struck me about this experience, and as always I’m going to share:
1. That Sh’aeri sounds like me.
I like the way she thinks. We seem to share the same opinions, especially regarding Uru’s fate and how to run a business. Strange enough she’d never heard of mystmovie.com and that struck me as … odd … considering all of the talk through the Myst community (but then again, many people haven’t seemed to have heard about it - weird). And speaking of weird:
2. That is damn weird.
As you probably figured already, near the end of the pod cast’s round table discussion (which, as I understand is conducted from Doug Sharper’s office in the URU cavern) a small discussion broke out about this event known as the new attempt to get a Myst Movie off the ground. It is really, really strange to hear about something you’re working on talked about by a group of strangers. Sure, we’ve seen the blog posts and the forum discussions and all of that, but there’s something about it crossing over to another of the senses — to audio — that makes it feel completely different. Weird people that we don’t know are talking about us and forming theories. That is really cool…
When this all hits the press, more things like that are going to be happening. I’m starting to wonder if I’m really prepared for this…

Thumbs-up for the coolness. Weird as it is. It’s cool. (Stop it, words!) Also? I am pretty sure you and Adrian can handle this hitting the press and all the weirdness that follows. You’ve proven yourselves more than competent so far. I for one trust you all the way with this project.
