For The Press - A Project Summary

Mar
13

Well, thanks to Ryan Davis, we have our first official write-up about the project at media-geeks.com.  It’s a pretty good little article.

Ryan cites a shared birthday with me (09/27/1978) as his reason for support :)  I’ll take it however it comes.  Thank you so much, Ryan.

Additionally, Patrick and I wanted to thank everyone for their hard work on spreading the word.  The incoming links have been growing daily, so you guys have definitely been doing your part.  Keep it up.  Every little bit helps.

Woo, awesome! It’s pretty amazing to see it written of somewhere else. Today media-geeks.com, tomorrow WIRED magazine!

Cheers to that! Let us hope :)

Woohoo, great to see it in an article like that! Nicely written up, too. I liked the “We’re not talking “Doom” or “Hitman” level of quality here. This movie would focus on plot, and character–the hallmarks of a good movie. These guys are on the right track” part.

YES.

River, I wrote the article on media-geeks myself, so I’m glad you liked that part. I want to make sure people don’t mentally lump this in with other “video game movies,” which have mostly been pretty lacking.
Adrian/Patrick, I was happy to help. I hope I can do more soon, and I can’t wait to see word spread to other sites.

I’ve sent an email to Total Film about the project. Maybe someone should inform IGN and Empire magazine:).

I just checked, and there’s nothing on wikipedia that a movie has been announced. I don’t have an account nor do I know how editing it is supposed to work, but if someone does, something should be put up. If not, I can do it in the morning if you all would like.

Actually I took care of it. Hooray for insomnia! I added a small note to the “upcoming” section of the general Myst page, but i’m not sure if there’s really a place for anything else on wikipedia. If anybody thinks it should say something somewhere else, I can take care of it. If Adrian and Patrick wanted to tell me which book the movie was based on, I could edit that page…… :P

I could try to get something like this to the attention of news groups in the area or some magazines I’ve subscribed too.

Dunno what it’ll do, but I’ll try.

Your edit was reverted because it did not sources. I put it back with some links to this site. Hopefully that will be enough for Wikipedia to let it stay there.

Thanks Gorobay

Great Article

publicity = good :)

I’ve put up a shout-out for the site on a Disney-enthusiast board, and I’ve already gotten two replies from Myst-lovers!! What can you say, we love magic in all forms.
