AARRGGHH! The Mysteria Film Group Wiki was replaced with a redirect to the Film section of the general Myst Wiki. Why do these roving editors feel the need to trash valid efforts to complete the Myst history?

Guys, thanks for the efforts - it looks really great! And while I liked the bios, and liked the prestige of having attended Notre Dame’s School of Film, Television & Theatre, it actually was inaccurate. I was never a student - just an involved townie. Just FYI.

I’ve added a Wikipedia entry for Mysteria Film Group. Since I just created my account, it will be four days before I can upload any pictures (such as your logo).

Some things that I think work best in wikipedia:
1. It’s more efficient to edit a wiki page using a registered personal account, and not anonymously. Using a personal account gives you also the option to discuss why a certain change should be kept, and defend it. And proves that you are not a troll.
2. It’s always better to fill in the “Edti summary” field, and give a clear short description of your edits. Also, it is more straightforward if the edits concern a certain section each time for a well defined purpose. Do not change things all over the place.
3. Like the latest edit says (actually it links to the “wikipedia is not” page where it is stated that):
Wikipedia is not a mirror or a repository of links. “On articles about topics with many fansites, including a link to one major fansite may be appropriate.”

That said, I still don’t find the “Gathering Sites” subsection appropriate for listing the direct link to this website.

Looking at the useful History feature…it seems that TheDJ removed the movie section on 16 March because it was “unsourced information”. Then it was restored shortly thereafter, citing the web site as a source. And it seems to have stayed there ever since.

Again, if I had more time I’d go ahead and make a full article on this thing. though I’d need some help from the Mysteriacs here to make sure that I’ve got all my sources straight, not to mention veteran Wiki-ites. Hopefully I’d be able to write it well enough that only the most asshaty editors will try to stab it.

… heck with it. I’ll go get myself a Wiki account. can’t hurt.

Hmm. When I checked the page just now, there is no link to this blog under “Movie”. Further down, one of the footnotes has a link to the “Defining Cyan’s Involvment” page here, but someone just casually perusing the wiki-page might not find it. (Can’t say I include Myst fans in this, since I don’t think there’s anything Myst-related we do ‘casually’!)

Seems a bit weird to me.

I think it looks ok. Under “Movie” it provides a link to the Cyan involvement page here. Although it would be nice if it said, “Myst–The Motion Picture”.

I can’t see how this belongs under the “Gathering Sites” paragraph, which obviously lists sites that are organizing real life fan gatherings/conventions.

The news about the movie, also doesn’t fit in the Upcoming Novels section.

It probably should go under a separate section about Related Movies or Independent Projects….

Well the gatherings link seems very out of place since the other two leads to sites concerning real-life meetings.
But then, I didn’t know the dnidesk was official so maybe you can get away with it.

Apparently, someone’s also added a link to this website under the “Gathering Sites” areas… probably as it’s not an “Official Site.”
