For The Press - A Project Summary

Mar
24

I spent the majority of yesterday afternoon responding to some of the numerous emails we have been receiving.  Patrick and I have discussed every one of them, but we just couldn’t find the time to reply until now.

There have been a lot of generous offers for support made by many of you.  We appreciate them all.  There are a lot of very talented people floating around on this site.

Thanks to all.  Now it’s back to writing.  Must finish script.  Must advance to next level.

Goody :) .

I really hope the script is not different than the book…I’m sure we all don’t want to end up with a “harry potter change the movie than the book as much as you can” style of movie ;) .

Every 10 pages of script gives you +1000 EXP! You’ll level up soon, which means you’ll have more skill points to spend on things like Profession: Movie Maker and Craft: Awesome Script.

lol Nice! I’m probably not much help, but I’m a wiz at spelling and grammer so I’d be happy to proof read stuff if you’d like. But otherwise, good luck and keep up the good work!

Wow Ryuu…brilliant. :p Something about emails…the more they pile up, the tougher it is to just buckle down and finally get to answering them. I guess schoolwork is a bit like that too….. *trails off*

Whoops grammar not grammer sorry!

So wait, last we heard the script was gunna be about 600 pages or so without edits. How far along is it now and how much work do you guys think it’ll take for you to be satisfied with it?

After that, is Hollywood looking at this?

If you need a production/set designer in, oh, I don’t know, 4-5 years from now, I’d love to work on this! I just have to get through college first. ;)

I second that motion KatrAnna.

I’m going for a profession in Graphics Design and Programming. This kinda stuff would be just up my alley ^_^

I’m going to be a theatre major in a few months if you need actors! :)

God, I certainly hope it won’t be 600 pages. There is no way we’ll ever convince anyone to give it a read.
Yes, Hollywood will be looking at this (provided it isn’t 600 pages) Standard length is 120. 1 page equals 1 minute of screentime…Or at least that’s what they say. I’ve experienced much different ratios personally.

I’d watch a 10 hour Myst movie provided you allowed plenty of intermissions to refill the popcorn bowl….

Interesting. How long do you guys predict the movie to be?

People have done movie marathons to watch Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, so they might enjoy hours and hours of D’ni. I could go for that!! And I hope this movie is out before I finish college, honestly, even though it would be awesome to work on. There’s always the sequel, right? ;)

Writing good, sleeping bad. lol
No really, I can’t wait till I see the words “The script is finished!” That will be a day for dancing and celebrating.

Awesome!

I’m looking forward to seeing this movie, After all these years it’s good to hear that’s finally happening.

I found a Movie online from someone who made a short mini MYST movie to show, kind of, what a movie of MYST would look like.

It’s very impressive.

If the script is done before April 10th, I propose a party at UO Bevin.

I’ll bring the beers :)

121 Woodplank Road…….

That’s kind of how I imgaine Atrus would be had he been doing nothing but drinking and heavily experimenting with illicit drugs for about a week.

I’m sure you fellows have plenty of your own ideas, but don’t close the option of TV mini-series completely. There have been some quality productions over the last few years on SciFi and other cable networks with high production values and much care taken on character and substance (i.e. Tin Man). Anyway, we’re all rooting for you!

I’d prefer Movie, Donnie -_-

Bigger audience, more push, better Hollywood production.
