For The Press - A Project Summary

Apr
26

Man…Busy times, these. I have about a million things on my plate these days, but the good news is that most of it is highly rewarding and I couldn’t be happier to be so swamped.

The project alone has me wearing a lot of hats. When not writing, I’m finding myself working on press-related aspects, prepping posts for release on the site and emailing people to try to organize an event to be included in Mysterium this year (no promises yet. We’re working on it).

Outside of Passage, I’m working with Patrick to try to complete a wedding video I shot last year for some family friends and working with a photographer to develop a promotional video for his studio.

I’m also working as a Case Manager for a psychology practice in the area. If all goes as planned, I’ll be meeting my new charge sometime next week. I’m really looking forward to this. The client is a 9 year old that’s having a pretty hard time with things. My job is to spend some quality time with him and basically act as a mentor. I guess he’s in need of a strong male role-model in his life. This is of particular interest to me because I had a pretty rough childhood and the idea of playing a part in trying to prevent another child from suffering in that way fills me with a sense of purpose and hope. I hope I can help do the same for him.

Still not sure what’s going on the with the whole “termination from job” thing. I’ve been reinstated, but I’ve still not gotten the call to return to work. I’ve been following up on everything I can regarding this debacle. That’s taken a lot of energy lately.

So, that’s life for me at the moment. Lots to do.

I went over the footage from our interview with Patrick last night. I’m glad we shot it. As it turns out, we did far better than we had thought. It’s strange to look at the tape and remember (sort of) what my thought process was in the moment and then to see it from a third-party perspective and realize that I didn’t sound like a total moron after all. That’s a load off my mind. I think we’ve established a good base to work from when doing future press.

EDIT:  Forgot a word.

i’m so proud of you.

Wow, you are quite the busy man! You have some nice projects among the stressful ones, though, don’t you… especially the one with the 9 year old kid. Good luck with that! Sounds like the boy could use a good role model in his life, yeah, and I think you’ll fit that bill pretty well. You seem like the kind of guy who would.
Hope the job thing works out all right too…!

Wow, that’s amazing of you Adrian! Good luck with all that! I hope you’ll be able to make it Mysterium, too!

“Will we get to see this video?”

We’re not quite sure about that yet. It depends on a few factors. We need to get approval from the reporter’s editor first. I can tell you that it will not be released before the article is. We’d be scooping them if we did that.

Wouldn’t want to do that, now would we ;)

Article goes out tomorrow though, so check with him :D

Some clarification: the press release posted recently, and the interview Adrian’s referring to here are two separate objects. The press release is being pushed out tomorrow, the interview is for an article appearing sometime next month. It seems there has been some confusion about this — sorry for that. :)

How much you wanna bet we’ll be hearing about this 9-year-old again in upcoming posts? :D That’s awesome guys.

Good for you Adrian! I have always wanted to be a psychologist when i grow up. ( I know you aren’t planning on it though) and you helping this kid is a fantastic thing to do. I’m really happy that you get the chance to help with this kid. i don’t mean to sound rude, but i kind of envy this kid though. not the problems he is going through, that must be horrible. But he gets to spend time with you while you are working on the movie. I’d do anything to be able to do that!!! but good luck to you all!

@Merrik

Whatever happened to Mr. IMAX of Colorado Dunes?

He died. Painfully. In many pieces.

(Who?)

I wonder how easily this kid can be bribed to bring us more scripty goodness… >:D

I’d seriously pay him 50 dollars for a piece of this “script” of his.

I finished the Book of Ti’ana, by the way.

Not sure what to say. I have… questions but am having trouble articulating them. Esp about Veovis (… I ‘m starting to think I’m getting a bit obsessed. darn it.)

“I hope I can help do the same for him.”
Adrian, I could not be more proud of you. Not even when you are accepting the Oscar for Best Director for this “indy” flick.
:)
