Well, I’ve just picked up the keys to my new place. I’ve been hoping to upgrade apartments for quite a while now, and the opportunity finally presented itself this month. After many years in my current digs, I was ready for a change. I’ve been staring at the same walls for entirely too long. One of the major problems with where I’ve been is the lack of light. The East-facing windows in the garden apartment offer nearly nothing in the way of sun after 11:00 a.m. (I’m still sleeping at this ungodly hour).
The new place is going to cost me ten bucks more a month (Great move on my part. The broke guy agrees to pay even more), but with that ten dollars I’ve profited an extra 300 square feet and a North-facing wall that is nearly all windows. I also have a nice West-facing set of windows. Light has never seemed so good. Another bonus is the lofted style of the place. The stairs will offer my poor cat, Eliot P. Manchester, Esq., some much-needed exercise and hopefully give him the means to drop some of those extra pounds.
Of course, with this extra space I’m stuck having to find a way to fill it so it doesn’t look so sparse. That takes money. If you’ve been following along, you know that money is not something I am blessed with at this point in my life. I guess I’ll just have to suffer through a bit of emptiness for a while.
Moving on Sunday. Beer and friends . It should be good.
P.S. I’m currently accepting donations ![]()
