For The Press - A Project Summary

Aug
17

I’m sitting at Starbucks at the moment waiting for the arrival of my very generous and helpful friends.  They have volunteered to assist me in my transplant.  Somehow I even convinced one of them to bring the beer.  How’s that for charisma?  Not only is this guy going to lug my crap, but he’s gonna pay to make it a little more fun for me :)  It’s my winning smile…  I’m going to owe these guys big time.

After work last night, I popped into Patrick’s for a nice meal and then found myself shopping in the wee hours of the morning with Dylan.  We went to every 24 hour store in the area desperately trying to find cheap things that would warm up the new place a bit.  We had very little luck.  I found things I liked, but they were way out of budget.  One such thing was a pub style table and chair set.  It was shockingly attractive for being bargain furniture.  The trouble is that it is $300.  Cheap by furniture standards, but a fortune by mine.   Oh well, I’ve become somewhat adept at the minimalist lifestyle (or at least I try to convince myself as such)

The fun has only begun for the day.  Friends should be here any minute.

I’m off for most of the week.  Hopefully I’ll be able to make up for the writing time I’ve lost due to the move.

The other guy brought me card and a mix CD :) This is sweet! I’m gonna start asking people for a million dollars (or 98 mil). I may just get it.

that’s what friends are for, although i’d doubt it if someone would give a million dollars :)

Go to Goodwill and Salvation Army. I bought a somewhat small reclining chair in great condition for $15 and a full sized sleeper sofa for $30. It’s a college kid’s- and probably broke person’s- dream come true!

Hey Adrian, I hate to ask you and Patrick…

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut…

A few entries ago, you said you sent about 450 pages of script to Cyan Worlds for approval. What became of that? Did you get approved, is it still getting run through, or did I miss you answering this and need a slap to the head?

Thanks either way =P

Nek — It was 230 pages - not 450 (oh gawd.) Rand took a couple weeks of holiday so things were a tad delayed. We should be hearing something anytime now.

I almost choked seeing 450 pages there. Hahahaha…

You got some good friends there Adrian! But is it safe for y’all to be drinking beer and moving heavy stuff? I hope you don’t have any stairs LOL

Oh yeah, 450 is the expected final tally before edits, right?

…right?

*waits for response*

Being a HUGE bargain shopper I must recommend The Habitat for Humanity Restore Store, I found several pieces of furniture for super cheap. Most of them required sanding and a bit of paint but thats so I could get them exactly how I had wanted. Also instead of buying new hardware for used pieces (which can get pricey) I opt for semi-reflective metalic paint that actually looks like brushed nickel, it’s less than $5 a can and can make a drastic difference. Can you tell I still love being crafty?

IKEA FTW!
I just found these coffee stencil thingys that lets you put coffee (or cinnamon) on your foam in neat little patterns! :o Impress your girl with a heart pattern, coffee made with lurve. ^^
(Which inconveniently reminded me about how painful Ikea visits are to male members of my family because we girls always get stuck on the small stuff hehehe)
