Okay, that’s it!  It’s time to do something about our posting security.  I just deleted 121 spam comments that had accumulated overnight.  Patrick, it’s time to “wewees da seekwet wepon!” (10 points to anyone that knows where that quote is from) ;)

wild guess: Team America: World Police?

A tip to prevent spam: http://www.thepcspy.com/kittenauth. Don’t know if wordpress supports it or if there are plugins for it, but it’s a good protection. You can replace the pictures with something Myst-like.

sorry, about the 3rd, post, but the link got busted. the dot at the end isn’t part of the link. http://www.thepcspy.com/kittenauth

I really don’t want to put a CAPTCHA on the site… I have an idea I’ve been meaning to run by you. If it doesn’t swing, I have a solution. Remember, we’re only getting SPAM so bad because our PR (0 -> 4) has climbed so highly in 6 months. That’s a good thing.

the quote is from the animated movie, An American Tail.

10 points for Joe. Joe, I hate to tell you this but the points here are much like the points on “Who’s Line is it Anyway”…they mean nothing. Still, kudos :)

If you don’t have it already, the Akismet plugin for WordPress is an excellent way to handle spam.

I also recommend Akismet. Before I started using Akismet I think I got 20 spam comments a day eventually, but now I rarely get any spam.

@Andy: Me too!

121 Spam posts O-o? You’ve got to be kidding me… that’s an impressive amount of spam to deal with…

I’m not incredibly savvy with this stuff, but hey if you guys have a plan, give it a shot.

Let me add a ” :D ” to the above post. Also, you guys are doing a great job at keeping the spam at bay: I haven’t noticed any.

… and here I had Bugs Bunny and Marvin the Martian running through my head. An American Tail … never would have guessed. :)
Then again, I am much better with anime anyway *shrugs* :)

You could fry up the spam and eat it. It’s pretty delicious that way.

Wife: Have you got anything without spam?

Waitress: Well, there’s spam egg sausage and spam, that’s not got much spam in it.

Wife: I don’t want ANY spam!

Adrian, your An American Tail quote reminded me of another great movie quote:
“Wewease Woger!!” (appropriate quote too, considering the title of your post) :)

Aww, Joe beat me to it :( Oh well!

Wow. That’s a lot of spam (I DON’T LIKE SPAM!!!)

~Kia

Oh man, you just got all kinds of points in my book for quoting that Deius. :) That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw his phrase too, how funny!

Actually, the quote is from An American Tail: The Mystery of the Night Monster (bonus points? lol)
